Experience Ballard on a Deeper Level!

Each year, Ballardites come out for a number of Polar Bear Plunges that take place in the frigid winter waters of Puget Sound at Golden Gardens Beach Park and Ballard Elks on the waterfront.

Ballard's social fabric and traditions are defined greatly by the neighborhood's many active community organizations like the Nordic Heritage Museum, Sustainable Ballard, Ballard Elks,  Friends of the Ballard LocksLeif Erikson Lodge, Seattle Fishermen's Memorial, Ballard Historical Society, Ballard Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Swedish Medical Center, the churches of Ballard and many more, which you can explore below.  All of these groups welcome newcomers and provide opportunities to get involved, to get help or information and to make new friends.  For more networking and community-building groups in Ballard and around Seattle, check out the Seattle Networking Guide.

The Community Groups section of this website is intended to help you connect with local nonprofits and social groups where you can get involved, have fun, do good and get to know Ballard on a deeper level. EAT BALLARD is honored to serve the diners, workers, organizations, events, traditions, neighbors, newcomers and visitors who breathe life into our beloved Ballard neighborhood.
