ABOUT THE F/V NORTHWESTERN

-  Northwestern was built in 1977 at Marco Shipyard in Seattle, WA. She was originally 108 feet in length overall. The vessel was built specifically for the King and Tanner crab fisheries of Alaska’s Bering Sea.

- Northwestern rose to fame in 2006 when Discovery Channel launched the Deadliest Catch TV Show inspired by the 1993 book, Working on the Edge: Surviving In the World's Most Dangerous Profession: King Crab Fishing on Alaska's High Seas.

- The home port of F/V Northwestern and most of the North Pacific Fishing Fleet is Ballard.
