19 days until the Nutcracker. And on this 19th day, we'd like you to meet George. George is a sophomore in the band. He started playing the tenor in the latter half of sixth grade at Eckstein Middle School. George studies with Mark Taylor and Roosevelt graduate Jesse Beckett-Herbert, and has been fortunate to be in bands directed by Darin Faul and Wayne Horvitz at Seattle JazzED. In addition to the tenor, he plays piano, flute, clarinet, alto, and his personal favorite, bass clarinet. He would love to learn bassoon at some point in the future. George is very happy to finally have the opportunity to play this great music. His favorite song in the suite is definitely Peanut Brittle Brigade. When not playing jazz, George loves to listen to and indulge in the stylings of Peter Sagal and Bill Curtis on National Public Radio’s 'Wait Wait…Don’t Tell Me!' George adds: "I love playing in this band. It’s a dream come true." ... See MoreSee Less
