It is a great Monday to meet the staff. Today we sat down with one of our Captains, Rochelle. Q: Where are you from?a. I was born in Arcata, CA. But I grew up in Hoquiam, WA. Since then I spent a couple of years in Bellingham and several years in Olympia before moving to Seattle about 8 years ago.Q: What is your role and how long have you been with the company?a. I am a Captain at AQUA and I have been with the company about a year and a half.Q: What is your proudest moment at AQUA by El Gaucho?a. I think I have more humbling moments than proud moments at AQUA. There is always something to learn and I’m constantly being challenged in new and interesting ways. The education never stops. But if I had to choose one moment, it would be the moment I was asked to join the management team. I feel honored and grateful every day.Q: What is your favorite dish/wine/cocktail at AQUAa. I’m absolutely crazy about the chilled corn soup! Sweet corn, fried avocado, strawberries and Dungeness crab. It is fresh, with just the right amount of sweetness and a perfect combination of flavors. I am dreaming about that soup, so good!b. Favorite cocktail is the Mitsubachi. Suntory whisky with honey simple and lavender bitters. It’s light, refreshing and perfectly balanced. A great cocktail to enjoy with appetizers or just by itself.c. Favorite wine right now is definitely the Delille Cellars Chaleur Blanc! Bordeaux style blanc from Washington. Great acid and fresh citrus aromas balanced out with enough French oak to give it a richer mouthfeel making it the perfect for our cuisine.Q: What is something that is on your bucket list?a. On Saturdays when I was a little girl, my grandfather took me to Ivar's Acres of Clams for lunch. He always had grilled salmon , and I had grilled oysters. The sign on the wall about clam nectar used to puzzle me..LOL Then we were off to the WaHusky games ..I didn't understand football, , but I sure had fun ... #Memories I love Ivar's to this day...and it's ALWAYS #GoDawgs! 💜💛
