A lake of Oxalis oregano at Dunn Gardens, also known as Wood Sorrel is native to the forests of Western United States and Canada. It prefers part to deep shade and serves as a perennial ground cover. The genus Oxalis is from the Greek "Oxys", meaning sour, and the edible leaves do, indeed, have a sour, tangy taste. They contain oxalic acid, which can be toxic if eaten in large amounts. Folklore has it that the plant is sensitive to touch. Test it out on your next visit. ... See MoreSee Less

We really enjoyed creating Adventure Globes in our Kids' Club activity yesterday! Kids' chose an environment, got to learn about it, and then recreate it as an everlasting terrarium.
